GNAG Dance's trip to Toronto for the Pulse on tour = SUCCESS!

WHAT A WEEKEND! Of all the conventions GNAG Dance has attended as a group, we must admit this one was by far the most successful!
GNAG Dance at dinner!
The group arrived in Toronto after a long train ride from Ottawa a little later than expected, but being the super-girls they are, they all managed to spend some money at the Eaton Centre before heading to our group dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory!
We had four of our girls participating in the Opening Performance, so after dinner, while they where rehearsing, the others watched a movie in the hotel room.
Saturday morning was met with much excitement and anticipation. The four girls in the performance had an early morning rehearsal, meanwhile the other girls got ready and did a bit more shopping at the dance merchandise booths.

Our Pulse Performance girls!
The first day of classes proved to be a huge challenge for GNAG dancers (and teachers!) each faculty member introducing more challenging routines for them to learn. At the end of the day, sweaty and tired, the girls were rewarded with a pizza party in their hotel room as they got ready for the Pulse Performance Showcase.

We lined up as a group early in order to get good seats to watch the show, and it was so much fun to cheer on four of GNAG Dance's talented girls on stage, opening the evening in a routine choreographed by a couple of the Pulse's protege dancers.
GNAG Dance @ The Pulse 2011!

On Sunday morning, after the girls packed up their rooms and were ready to head down for another day of classes, GNAG dance teachers set the day on an inspirational note by giving the dancers a pep talk. This proved to be very effective, as they all performed incredibly well in each new routine taught. A couple of our dancers were even selected to perform in a small group in front of the entire class (which, at the Pulse, is a HUGE honour).

At the awards and scholarship ceremony, one of our dancers received a Leadership Scholarship! We are so proud that she was recognized for her hard work and determination in class!

The train back was not the expected quiet ride after the exhausting weekend - the girls and parents alike were buzzing with their newfound friendships, stories, and experiences of the last few days.

Our next trip for GNAG dance will be to the Coastal Dance Rage Summer intensive in Toronto from July 24-28, followed directly by the Pulse NYC Summer Intensive from July 28-31st! If you and/or your daughter are interested in more information on going to either convention, please let Kailena know ASAP!
